THE HISTORY ’G. Torno High School is the result of 25 years of continuous innovation.’
1974
It started as a branch of the Technical High School "C. dell’Acqua" situated in the city of Legnano. Initially there was a unified two-year course followed by the four specialist branches: agriculture, civil engineering, biochemistry and foreign languages.
1979
The agriculture course became a branch of the "Scuola di Agraria" in the nearby town of Villa Cortese.
1982
Is the official birthdate of the Business and Technical Experimental School with its new Accountancy Course.

1987
The school was given a new site, which was officially opened in 1989 by the Minister of Education Giovanni Galloni. The school was named after the engineer Giuseppe Torno, a famous entrepreneur from Castano Primo, founder of the Torno Company, one of Italy’s biggest firms of civil engineering. The new building is provided with many facilities: laboratories for chemistry, biology, physics, foreign Languages, computer science, technical drawing, video room, library, playing fields and two gyms. The school has become a reference point for a growing number of students coming from the area.
 
1992
In the via Moroni building the first classes of the grammar school started as a branch of ‘C. Cavalleri’ grammar school of Parabiago a city almost 20km away.
1996
The Administration course is substituted by the I.G.E.A. course (accountancy and computer programming) according to the new school regulations.
1998
The School becomes one of the centres of the S.I.R. network (Scuole in Rete= Schools in network) linking the schools in the province of Milan through the net.
The grammar school moved to the site of piazzale D. Milani, in the new extension.

1999
Ms Nicolina Francavilla becomes the new headmistress bringing to Castano her wide experience both at school in Italy and at university in France.
 
2000
The new ‘G. Torno’ High School starts from the merge of the former Technical Business and the Grammar School.
 
2003
The Grammar school of Social Sciences starts.
