October impressions

the experience of the exchange has been wonderful. I think it has been useful to improve my English, but also to learn to manage myself in different situations. The first days were a bit laborious because I could hardly speak to the Belgian girls. Living together was tiring but really amusing, especially when I saw the funny face of one of the girls after she had eaten hot food or their satisfied expression after eating lasagne or pizza. The girls and I really got on well together: during the shopping in Pavia we laughed very much. We spent funny evenings together in pubs and pizzeria. They also met my friends. All of them grew fond of them and I look forward to going to Belgium

actually it’s not so easy to write how I felt during the exchange. At the beginning, I didn’t want to do all this because I thought my English wouldn’t be as good as the Belgian girl’s. Little by little I could learn and improve my English pretending to be a good speaker and it worked perfectly, so I’m happy I have enlarged my knowledge. I’m also happy I have known Sara and Lien and I’m looking forward to going to Belgium so I’ll have the possibility to see them again and enjoy myself one more time

the Belgian guys were very polite to us but for me the principal problem was talking to my partner, Rosanne. She is a very timid and quiet girl. On the first day we weren’t able to have a dialogue but on the last days the problem was solved and we spoke normally. During the exchange I learnt to be more kind and patient with the others. I also learnt some new English words. So, in the end I’m very happy because in February I’m going to Belgium

I think that the experience of the exchange was great. My Belgian partners were very nice and sociable. I think that it was useful to compare us with other persons and cultures. When the Belgian students arrived, on Saturday night, I was very happy but also embarrassed and a bit worried. On the first day I was a bit shy but when we went to Villa Annoni in Cuggiono I started to talk with them. Now I miss the Belgian students!

before the exchange I didn’t think it was a good idea, but now I’ve changed my opinion. I’ve known new friends and I’ve learnt a lot of things about them and their life. For example their school: in Belgium teachers are very strict and the students can’t smoke at school. I liked the two trips we did in Milan and Pavia . I’ve been pleased to visit ‘ La Scala ’ theatre because it was the first time I’ve been there. Going shopping in Milan with the Belgians was funny and interesting because they had a taste which is different from ours. I liked this experience. I didn’t give hospitality to a Belgian student but I got to know Elena’s partner very well and I’ve become her friend. I would like to go to Belgium to see her again
