SPECIAL PROJECTS
Apart from ordinary curriculum activities, we take part in special projects which allow us to:

  • Investigate selected subjects
  • Interact with training and cultural centres outside the school
  • Improve the quality of the school teaching
  • Make the learning and teaching process more effective

CULTURAL EXCHANGES
For some years now we have been organising cultural exchanges with both Italian and European schools. Some of them are financed by the E.U. They aim at:

  • Getting to know different cultural and social ways of life,
  • Improving students communicative ability,
  • Improving the awareness of our European citizenship,
  • Carrying out study trips,
  • Investigating common themes with foreign students.

Our tradition dates back to 1994 with an exchange with Werner-Siemmens-Gymnasium of Magdeburg in Germany and a class of the language course.

In 1996 we had an exchange with I.E.S. Alpajes of Aranjuez in Spain and a class of the biochemistry course on environmental issues such as water pollution in our area.

Again in 1997 and 1998 there were two exchanges with the Spanish school on the themes of health and food and the reciprocal images and stereotypes.

In 2000 there was an exchange with an Italian secondary school from Angri, in the south of Italy. The aim was to knock down stereotypes between the North and the South of Italy in favour of a deeper knowledge of both cultures.

In 2001 we repeated the experience with the same Italian school. This time the interest was in the reciprocal local areas analysed in their historical, socio-economical and cultural aspects.

In 2001 we also had exchanges with the Belgian Rozemberg Institute of Secundair Onderwejs of Mol and the Hungarian Szent Laszlo Gimnazium of Budapest.

In the school–year 2001-02 we are carrying out exchanges with 4 European schools : the Belgian school of Mol, the Hungarian school of Budapest, the German school of Quickborn and the Finnish school of Helsinki.

COMENIUS PROJECT 2003 – 2006
For almost three years we have had a partnership with schools in Belgium, Finland, Germany, Poland, Hungary and Denmark with a project powered by the EU with interesting and involving activities like
Students' Exchanges
E-mail projects
